Street Child is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to improving access to education and child protection for some of the world’s most vulnerable children. Since its founding in 2008, Street Child has worked in fragile and crisis-affected contexts to remove barriers to education, including poverty, conflict, displacement, disability, and climate-related shocks. The organisation operates through a strong localisation approach, partnering closely with national and local organisations to deliver sustainable, community-driven solutions across Africa and Asia.

Street Child’s work spans education in emergencies, inclusive education, child protection, and livelihood support for families, with a clear focus on reaching children who are most at risk of being excluded from education. The organisation combines direct programme implementation with advocacy, capacity strengthening of local partners, and strategic collaboration within international networks.

Fundraising

The Fundraising part is for securing the financial resources required to implement Street Child’s programmes globally. This includes institutional fundraising (e.g. government donors, multilateral agencies, and foundations), private fundraising, and partnerships with trusts, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals. The team works closely with country offices and programme teams to develop high-quality funding proposals, donor reports, and strategic funding plans, while ensuring alignment with donor priorities and organisational strategy.

Grant Management

The Grant Management aspect ensures effective oversight of funded projects throughout their lifecycle. This includes compliance with donor requirements, financial and narrative reporting, contract management, risk mitigation, and internal coordination between country teams, finance, and technical advisors. Strong grant management supports accountability, learning, and the delivery of high-quality programmes in line with both donor expectations and Street Child’s values.

Communications

The Communications part focuses on enhancing visibility, engagement, and advocacy through clear and ethical storytelling. The team manages internal and external communications, including donor communications, digital platforms, publications, and campaigns. Communications works closely with fundraising to translate impact, evidence, and field experience into compelling content that strengthens relationships with supporters, donors, and partners.

We are currently seeking a full-time (33 hours/week) Swiss intern to join our team in the Barcelona office for a preferred duration of 6 months, although shorter durations can be discussed.
