Company Description
Our Marine Biology Program in Tenerife focuses on understanding marine ecosystems through a combination of theoretical lessons and enhanced underwater sampling via scuba diving. Participants follow a structured, day-by-day schedule that includes training sessions, scientific fieldwork, and participation in ongoing research projects.
All field activities are conducted under the supervision of a marine biologist and/or a certified PADI professional instructor. You will apply scientific methodologies across different marine environments, collecting and analyzing real data used in long-term research.
This internship provides hands-on, real-world experience designed to complement academic studies in marine biology, environmental sciences, or related fields. You will gain practical skills in marine ecology, conservation, underwater sampling techniques, and data analysis using scientific and statistical platforms.
Participants may obtain a PADI scuba certification or continue their diving education during the program. Our growing scientific database is available to those interested in developing academic or scientific papers.
Role Description
As a Marine Biology Intern in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, your role is to actively participate in field research through scuba-assisted underwater sampling. You will collect scientific data using different equipment and methodologies focused on rocky-bottom communities and seagrass ecosystems.
During the program, you will learn how to visually, graphically, and statistically analyze data collected during dives. You will also receive guidance and academic support in the development and writing of your own scientific manuscript.
This internship allows you to build practical experience in marine conservation, research methodologies, and scientific communication. Participants may use the program as a foundation for a thesis or scientific publication, with step-by-step mentoring from lessons to underwater fieldwork.
Students, recent graduates, and researchers are encouraged to explore funding opportunities through their universities by contacting International, Placement, or Erasmus+ offices, as well as external scholarship providers.
