Santander CIB Markets is looking for a Transactional FX product specialist based out of Madrid.

We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

• Embedding FX solutions within Transaction Banking products, including Payments, Cash Pooling, Confirming, Factoring, and Letters of Credit, to deliver integrated value propositions for Corporate Clients.
• Providing support to Global Transaction Banking and Markets Sales teams in Client engagement by assessing Clients’ transactional and FX needs and delivering best-in-class, tailored solutions.
• Identifying and developing FX solutions for new payment corridors, multi-currency accounts, and acquiring solutions across Retail, Corporate, and Commercial Banking segments.
• Leading Global Embedded FX initiatives, designing product workflows and rollout strategies in close collaboration with the Global Transaction Banking team, dedicated Technology squads, and relevant operational teams.
• Promoting collaboration across local Transactional FX teams within Santander, driving alignment on global initiatives and facilitating the sharing of best practices and lessons learned.

Professional Experience

• 5–10 years’ experience in FX solutions for Transaction banking products and services: payments, cash pooling, confirming, receivable. (Required)
• Strong understanding of Client behaviour (Retail, Corporates, Institutional Clients), regarding Cash Management and Trade and Working capital needs.
• Hands-on experience working with Cash Management and FX platforms and other digital E2E workflow solutions via Host 2 Host or API (Required)
• Understanding of acquiring services with FX solutions such as Dynamic currency conversion and Muli currency pricing.
• Proven experience in managing projects or transformational initiatives (Required)
• Ability to operate effectively in a build-out or evolving environment, where processes and tooling are still developing (Required)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
• Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc, MBA) beneficial but not required
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CFA) advantageous but not essential

Languages

Hard Skills

• Strong knowledge of FX products integrated into transactional products.
• Solid understanding of Cash Management and Working Capital and Trade products (Required)
• Strong understanding of new payment and acquiring solutions (Required)
• Familiarity with functional and architectural designs (Required)
• Comfortable presenting in front of Clients (Required)
• Ability to work effectively with Sales and Trading teams as well as technology, data science, and production support teams (Required)
• Comfortable working with data and reporting tools (e.g. Excel, internal dashboards, platform analytics) (Preferred)

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex execution concepts clearly and pragmatically to clients and internal stakeholders
